Hail Damage to a Roof

The last thing you want to think about during the summer are hailstorms, but that’s what happens around New Mexico. Now, I think we all have our game faces on, due to the amount of unexpected everything this year, so we just want to make sure you are prepared when the storms come.

Hailstorms are much like windstorms in the damage that they cause to roofs. The larger the hail, the more risk to your home. Not only does it damage the house, but it wreaks havoc to your plants and your vehicles. To protect your cars, there are coverings you can purchase. We’ve also see cardboard placed over windshields to at least protect the glass from breaking. Unfortunately, there is not a cover large enough or simple enough to throw over your home to protect it. However, we should remind you, do not go outside during a hail storm to protect your property; the last thing we all want is for you to get hurt. Watch the weather and prepare the best you can. Property can be replaced; however, you cannot be replaced.
